He was predeceased by: his parents, Harvey Schmidt and Arlene Schmidt (Guidinger); and his daughter Jennifer. He is survived by: his wife Nadine Joan Munsterman; his children, Jeff, Kim Carter, Jeffrey Schmidt, Melanie Kochel (Tad) and Lisa Gonzalez (Osmin); his grandchildren, Jordan Kochel, Aaron, Hannah Carter and Evan Gonzalez; and his siblings, Don Schmidt (Peg), Bob Schmidt (Charlotte), John Schmidt (Carma) and Elva Jean (Cheryl).
