He is survived by: his children, Richard Swanson II of Arizona, Kris Hermsen (Tim) of Iowa Falls and Jason Swanson (Kelly) of Otsego, MN; his grandchildren, Kelsey Shortley (Adam), Travis Hermsen, Tyler Hermsen, Calvin Swanson and Lucie Swanson; and his sister Pat Ranes. He is also survived by three great grandchildren.
