She was predeceased by: her parents, Melville Jacobson and Mildred Jacobson (Olmstead); her husband Stanley Abkes; her children, Collene, Ronald Tjarks and Gary Tjarks; and her brother Keith Jacobson.
She is survived by: her former husband Gary Lee Tjarks; and her children, Doug Tjarks (Alane) of Indianola, Shelly Hoffman (Thomas) of Iowa Falls, Kevin Tjarks of Buckeye, Kim Abkes (Jane) of Iowa Falls, Alice Abkes of Iowa Falls, Richard Abkes of Iowa Falls and Leonard Abkes of Iowa Falls. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
