He was predeceased by: his parents, Chester Porter and Lois Porter (Lunn); and his brother Gregory. He is survived by: his siblings, Jeffrey Porter (Mavis) and Janelle Porter of Coon Rapids; and his nephews, Jason Porter of Beaverton, Joshua Porter of Lino Lakes, James Porter of Minneapolis and Andrew Green of Coon Rapids, Minnesota..
