He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Kappel and Mary Kappel (Jones); and his brother Dave Kappel. He is survived by: his wife Diane Kappel; his stepchildren, C. J. Doering (Davey) of Iowa Falls, Brian Doering (Lisa) of Alden and Alyssa Klaver (Jake) of Kamrar; his nephews, Nathan Kappel and Mitch Kappel; and his niece Andrea DeGroote. He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren.
