He was predeceased by: his parents, Emory Harris and Phyllis Harris (Granzow); his son Shane; and his mother-in-law Dale (Irene Hackbarth). He is survived by: his wife Sandy Hackbarth of Iowa Falls; his daughter Shelby Phippen (Chuck) of Ankeny; his daughter-in-law Laurie Harris of Altoona; his grandsons, Spencer Harris and Lucas Harris of Ankeny; and his brother-in-law Kevin Hackbarth (Jayne) of Muncie, IN. He is also survived by other family members and friends.
