She was predeceased by: her parents, John Dyke and Margaret Dyke (Sikkema); her husband John H. Vining; her daughter Deborah Thies; and her siblings, Ilene Hardy, Alice Dever, Marge Neilsen and John Dyke (Jack).

She is survived by: her sons, John Vining (Sheila) of LeClaire and Mark Vining (Lynn) of Iowa City; her grandchildren, Chelly Fink (Adam) of Indiana, Jessica Jones of Oregon, Jason Jones of Indiana, Neil Vining (Cassandra Goodman) of LeClaire, Nathan Vining of LeClaire, Leah Link (William) of Indiana, Brett Vining of New York and Sarah Luense (Carter) of Colorado; her great grandchildren, Amber Fink of Kentucky, Joshua Fink of Indiana, Hagen and Hudson Vining; her great great grandchildren, Tyson and Augustus Fink of Kentucky; her son-in-law Robert Thies; her siblings, Jean Smith of Arizona, Gail Thomson (John) of Texas, Carol Jenkin (Robert) of Texas and Donald Dyke of Wisconsin; and her brother-in-law Richard Hardy of Arizona.

Memorials may be made in her honor to Iowa City Hospice or Melrose Meadows.
