He was predeceased by: his parents, William Welsh and Marie Welsh (Rogers); his sister Lorraine Werner; and his siblings-in-law, James Werner, Robert Steinbrech, Edward Steinbrech, Francis Steinbrech and Mary Stahle.
He is survived by: his wife Marge Welsh (Steinbrech); his son Tim Welsh (Shelly); his grandsons, Matthew and Ryan Welsh; and his sisters-in-law, Irene Steinbrech and Nargi Steinbrech.
A rosary was held on Thursday, February 20th 2025 at 3:30 PM at the Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service (605 Kirkwood Ave, Iowa City, IA 52240). Visitation was held on Thursday, February 20th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the same location. A Mass was held on Friday, February 21st 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Patrick Catholic Church (4330 St Patricks Dr, Iowa City, IA 52240).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Patrick Catholic Church or the Regina Foundation.
