She was predeceased by: her siblings, Jack, Tom, Mary Ester "Winder", Jenny Linda and David.
She is survived by: her husband Frank Longo; her children, Julie Longo (Rob) of Saint Paul, MN, Joseph Longo (Tracy) of Iowa City, IA, Crista Pell (Mike) of Indianapolis, IN, Thad, Jude, Gabrielle Longo of Iowa City, IA and Gian Longo (Jill) of Brookfield, IL; her grandchildren, Cooper, Katy, Eliot, Nico, Tino, Theo, Gino, Henry, Isla and Lucy; and her parents, Louis Melcher and Mary Etta Melcher.
Visitation was held on Saturday, February 15th 2025 at 9:00 AM at the St. Mary's Catholic Church (302 E Jefferson St, Iowa City, IA 52240). A Mass was held on Saturday, February 15th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A reception was held on Saturday, February 15th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Kitty's memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, the Coralville Community Food Pantry, or The Iowa City CommUnity Crisis Services and Food Bank.
