She was predeceased by: her mother Bonnie Wenman. She is survived by: her father Larry Pelkey-Cole; her husband Benjamin Schaapveld; her children, Joshua Wenman, Amanda Schutte (Jason) and Dustin Snyder (Ashley); her pet Boo; her grandchildren, Joshua Wenman Jr., Guy Seelhammer, Jasmine Schutte, Cody, Willow Schutte, Chyanne Linnell, Dallas Walker, Caleb, Tessa, Zayden and Aryanna Synder; and her siblings, James, Christopher, Stephanie and Adam Cole.
A reception was held on Friday, February 21st 2025 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service (605 Kirkwood Ave, Iowa City, IA 52240).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Ben Schaapveld to assist him in caring for Julia's family.
