He was predeceased by: his mother Lois; his uncle John; and his aunt Loretta Kauffman. He is survived by: his father Nyle Kauffman (Lauralee) of Iowa City; and his siblings, Timothy Kauffman (Kim) of Westminster, CO, Karl Kauffman (Sarah) of Texas and Sarah Biersner (Jason) of Iowa City. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, December 10th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the East Union Mennonite Church (5615 Gable Ave SW, Kalona, IA 52247). A celebration of life was held on Tuesday, December 10th 2024 at 4:00 PM at the same location.
A memorial fund has been established for Shelter House in Iowa City.
