He was predeceased by: his parents, William Detweiler and Blanche Detweiler (Norris); his wife Ruth E. Marine; his brothers, Gene, Ronald and Donald Detweiler; his son Lynn Detweiler; his grandson Troy Detweiler; his sisters-in-law, Barbara, Mary Ellen, Frances and Gelaine Detweiler; his nephews, Dennis and Bobby Detweiler; and his niece Dawn Stout.
He is survived by: his children, Linda Bang (Bob), Cheryl Milder (Larry) and Carroll Detweiler.
Visitation was held on Monday, January 6th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service (2720 Muscatine Ave, Iowa City, IA 52240). A funeral service was held on Monday, January 6th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to causes important to Dwain and his family, supporting Veterans and their families and the National Parks. Dwain was born on August 6, 1929, in Washington County, Iowa, Dwain was the beloved son of William and Blanche (Norris) Detweiler.
