With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Deborah Scheckel Cobb D. D. S. (Iowa City, Iowa), whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Deborah Scheckel left this world on April 2, 2025 at the age of 71, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. She was predeceased by: her parents, Elizabeth Scheckel (Blong) and Dr. Gerald John Scheckel; and her sister Mary Langlois (Scheckel). She is survived by: her husband Dr. Stuart Cobb of Iowa City; her children, Valerie Schroder of Timnath, CO and Dr. Bryan Cobb; her grandchildren, Kayla Schroder, Anthony Schroder, Cora Schroder and Theo Cobb; and her siblings, Dr. Stephen Scheckel (Pamela Terrill) of Iowa City, Susan Scheckel and Dr. John Scheckel of Scottsdale, AZ.. She is also survived by numerous extended family, friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 25th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM at the Lensing Funeral and Cremation Service (605 Kirkwood Ave, Iowa City, IA 52244-0167). A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 25th 2025 from 5:30 PM to 6:00 PM at the Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service- Iowa City (605 Kirkwood Ave, Iowa City, IA 52244-0167). A celebration of life will be held on Friday, April 25th 2025 at 6:15 PM at the Kirkwood Room at Governor's Ridge (515 Kirkwood Ave, Iowa City, IA 52240).

In lieu of flowers, Dr. Cobb's family kindly requests that contributions be made to a hospitality fund supporting graduate students in the Operative Department at the University of Iowa College of Dentistry.
