He is survived by: his son Dennis Gerard (Ellen); his grandsons, Michael Gerard (Rachel), James Gerard (Jenniffer) and Joseph Gerard (Michelle); and his siblings, James and Evelyn.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Dean's memory to Briarwood Health Care Center.
