He was predeceased by: his parents, Kathryn Holst (Herman) and Everett Schwab; his siblings, Everett "Butch" Schwab (Janet), Kenny Schwab (Bonnie), Robert "Bobby" Rush and Donna Owens (Mike); his son Ron Dixon (Karen); and his granddaughter Kaitlyn Norman.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Dixon (Kruse) of Iowa City; his daughters, Kelly Norman (Dixon) of West Branch and Peggy Trosper (Doug) of West Branch; his daughter-in-law Karen Dixon (Ron); his grandchildren, Mariah Marshall (Jake) of West Liberty, J. Drake Swails, Dawson Swails, Marisa Garvin (Ryan), Joshua Dixon and Megan Dixon; his great grandchildren, Nash and Rayna Marshall; and his siblings, Raymond Schwab (Bonnie) and Berta Garrett (Charley). He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, November 27th 2024 from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service (2720 Muscatine Ave, Iowa City, IA 52240). A memorial service was held on Wednesday, November 27th 2024 at 11:30 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Iowa City Hospice, 1526 Sycamore Street, Iowa City, Iowa 52240.
