She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Doyle and Evelyn Doyle (Davis); and her siblings, Jim Doyle, Margaret McGill and Claire Doyle.
She is survived by: her husband Roger Dean Hurt of Mary's Catholic Church; her children, Mark Hurt (Becky), Steve Hurt (Karen), Dan Hurt (Marcia) and Marsha Hurt; her grandchildren, Amber Hurt, Kyle Hurt, Amy Johnston (Taylor), Joel Hurt (Allie), Courtney Keen (Aidan), Kevin Hurt, Kaitlin McKnight and Brea McKnight; her great grandchildren, Aiden Miller, Sullivan Johnston and Silas Johnston; and her brother Reverend Thomas Doyle.
Visitation was held on Monday, December 16th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service (2720 Muscatine Ave, Iowa City, IA 52240). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, December 17th 2024 at 10:30 AM at the St. Mary's Catholic Church (215 Summit St, Oxford, IA 52322).
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Carol's memory to the Stead Family Children's Hospital c/o University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
