He was predeceased by: his parents, Simon Kooima and Maggie Kooima (Prins); his wife Rose; his sister Katherine; his brother-in-law Joe Van Ballegooyen; his children-in-law, Wanda Kooima and James Ter Wee; and his grandson Jonathan Kooima.

He is survived by: his former spouse Rozenda Bartels; and his children, Steven Kooima, Marla Ter Wee, Harlan Kooima (Kim), Lisa Kooima (Stacey) and Scott Kooima. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Social distancing protocols will be followed and the wearing of a mask is required.

The Kooima family prefers memorials be directed to Fellowship Village of Inwood, Iowa.
