He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter and Alice (Ter); his son Lance Tilstra; and his siblings, Henrietta Pennings, John, Rodney, Elmer, Marinus and Marvin Tilstra.
He is survived by: his wife Donna; his children, Lisa DeJong (Paul) of Sioux Falls, Jami Jacobson (Paul) of Inwood and Jaris Tilstra (Katelyn) of Brandon; his grandchildren, Tyler, Alex, Maddie, Hunter, Easton and Coen; his siblings, Garrit Tilstra (Henrietta) of Canton, Kenny Tilstra (Mary) of Sheridan, Montana and Marcene Kempema (Lloyd) of Greely, Colorado; and his siblings-in-law, Clarence Pennings of Orange City, Iowa, Carolyn Tilstra of Surprise, Nellie Tilstra of Sioux Center and Marilyn Tilstra of Denver, Colorado. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
