He was predeceased by: his parents, Gerrit Haan and Adriana De Haan (De Graff); and his wife Viola Boersma. He is survived by: his children, Don of Inwood and Bonnie Knobloch (Mike) of Inwood; his grandchildren, Valerie Faber (Steve) of Inwood and Geoff Knobloch (Elise) of Sioux Falls; his great grandchildren, Dana Jeltema (Riley) of Orange City, Evan Faber of Inwood, Ben, Jake, Drew and Lily Knobloch of Sioux Falls; his great great grandchild Parker Grace Jeltema; his siblings, Gary De Haan (Donna) of Sioux Center, Iowa, Betty Valentine of Sioux Center and Marie Ekdom of Pipestone, Minnesota; his sisters-in-law, Pauline De Haan of Sioux Center and Thressa De Haan of Grandville, Michigan; his sisters, Tilly Pasma (Orv) and Judy Westra (Marv); and his siblings-in-law, Wayne Ekdom, Warren Valentine and Ella Mae Kooistra (Willis). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and other extended family.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial gifts be designated for Fellowship Village or the Inwood Christian School.
