He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert G. Mews and Ruth Mews (Spiegler); his wife Lin; his son Paul; his sister Mary Uhlig; his parents-in-law, Don and Louise; and his brother-in-law Steve.
He is survived by: his children, Liz Lemcke (Kevin) of Black Hawk, SD, Laurie Politzer (Adam) of Waukee, IA, Susan Mews of Chicago, IL and Al Mews (Jayme) of North English, IA; his daughter-in-law Jessica Mews (Paul); his grandchildren, Alayna, Christian Lemcke, Abby, Kate Politzer, Clara, Gwen, Ada Mews, Caleb, David, Drew Mews, Camarion Mews, Lydia, Nora Harris, Eloise, William and Avery Mews; his siblings, Cal Uhlig of Ankeny, IA, Diana (Chris Caldwell), Bob (Cindy Mews), Nancy (Bob Grogan) and Tom (Mel Lanham); and his nieces and nephews, Kristen, Dave (Katie), Grete, Kassy, Anne Marie, Lisa (Eric), Jill (Scott), Andrew (Brandy), Rachel (Ryan) and Stephen (Leticia).
Visitation was held on Sunday, December 22nd 2024 from 3:30 PM to 5:00 PM at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church (302 S Oak St, Inwood, IA 51240). A funeral service was held on Monday, December 23rd 2024 at 10:30 AM at the same location. He even took on a position as a feeder so he could see her daily, in person, during the pandemic lock-down.
Memorials may be directed to Fellowship Village or Bethlehem Lutheran Church, both of Inwood.
