He was predeceased by: his parents, L. Kenneth Bishop and Alice Bishop; and his brother Larry Bishop. He is survived by: his wife Maude Bishop; his children, Marjorie Norris (Merrill) and Mark Bishop (Julia); his grandchildren, Jason Norris (Cara), Kyle Norris (Jessica), Andrea Gallagher (Matthew), Lindsay Fick (Tyler), Mackenzie Johnson-Bishop and Avery Johnson-Bishop; his great grandchildren, Evangaline "Evie" Norris, Paisley Norris, Decker Norris, Elliotte "Ellie" Gallagher and Avery Gallagher; and his brother Dean Bishop (Maria Olga). He is also survived by nephews and friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, February 13th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Overton Funeral Home (501 W Ashland Ave, Indianola, IA 50125). A funeral service was held on Friday, February 14th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Redeemer Lutheran Church (1410 W Boston Ave, Indianola, IA 50125). A burial was held on Friday, February 14th 2025 at the same location.
Memorials, in memory of Martin, may be given to Redeemer Lutheran Church or Iowa Lions Foundation for KidSight.
