She was predeceased by: her parents, Howard McBride and Ellen McBride (Keller); her husband Calvin Abel; and her siblings-in-law, Billy Beard and Nancy Jelinski.
She is survived by: her children, Susan Garmon and Ronald Abel (Cindy); her granddaughter Megan Abel (James Wallace); her great grandchildren, Macaila, Madelyn and Mae; her granddaughter Stacie Leinen (Kyle); her great grandchildren, Calvin and Sylvia; her granddaughter Nicole Cope (Tim); her great grandchildren, Oliver and Ezekiel; her grandchild Sharie Trachsel (Matt); her great grandchildren, Lincoln and Fiona; her stepgrandchildren, Cory Gifford (Cassie), Cara Romore (MJ) and Crystal Harsin (Jake); her siblings, Allan McBride and Deloris Beard; and her son-in-law Steve Garmon. She is also survived by 7 step-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Sunday, March 23rd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Carlisle United Methodist Church (405 School St, Carlisle, IA 50047). A funeral service was held on Monday, March 24th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, March 24th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 1:15 PM at the Humeston Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Wesley Life Hospice or The Village.
