With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Wilbur C. Nielsen of Independence, Iowa, born in Bemidji, Minnesota, who passed away on February 13, 2023 at the age of 98. He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Arthur and Emma Marie Nielsen (Klein); his daughter Marcia; his grandson Dain Mawdsley; and his brothers, Frank Nielsen and Jim Nielsen.

He is survived by: his children, Mark Nielsen (Donna) of Independence, David Nielsen (Mary) of Atlanta and Diane Evans (Roy) of Aberdeen; and his sister Patricia Haven of Independence. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren.
