He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald Francis Higgins and Cora H. Higgins (Eastman); his grandson Jase Higgins; his brother Samuel Higgins; and his nephews, Jeff, Cameron and Danny Higgins.
He is survived by: his wife Candace Higgins of Independence, IA; his children, Christopher Higgins (Julie) of Green Bay, WI, Andrew Higgins (Tonya) of Independence, IA and Kimberly Estevez (Dante) of Independence, IA; and his siblings, Vince Higgins of Winthrop, IA, Michael Higgins (Kathleen) of Ocean City, MD, Ronald Higgins (Mary) of Weldona, CO and Mary Breitbach (Eldon) of Marion, IA. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and step-grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren and step-great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Sunday, November 10th 2024 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the White Funeral Home (400 1st St W, Independence, IA 50644). A funeral service was held on Monday, November 11th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
Memorials may be directed to the family to be given to projects important to Tom.
