He is survived by: his former wife Geraldine Hellyer; his wife Betsy Fretheim; his children, Heather Wildoner (Jesse) of Millsap, TX, Jesse Scheer (Emily) of Shellsburg, IA and Cody Scheer (Amy) of Independence, IA; his grandchildren, Josh Ornelas, Maddison Armstead, Ezra Scheer, Rowan Scheer, Linzie Sebastian and Ben Swift; and his brothers, Rick Scheer (Denise) of Quincy, IL and Randy Scheer of Ashland, IL..
