He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Orville Dwight Fernald, Ione Lillian Fernald (Rathbun), Paul and Irene Kerkove; and his father Robert "Bob" Fernald.
He is survived by: his mother Barb Fernald (Kerkove) of Jesup, IA; his siblings, Laurie Houser (David) of Mason City, IA and Russell Fernald (Ning) of Galveston, IN; and his nieces and nephews, Adam Houser, Ashley Houser, Bobby Cassada (Nichole) and Ashley Flynn (Ray). He is also survived by five great nieces; five great nephews; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Memorials may be directed to St. Athanasius Church and the Darrell E. Davis Day Center.
