He was predeceased by: his parents, George W. McCormick and Eva G. McCormick (Goodrich); his stepfather Alan Freeman; his stepbrother Bruce Freeman; and his nephew William C. Brooks Jr..
He is survived by: his son Dr. Rick McCormick (Alicia) of Independence, IA; his stepchildren, Rhonda Riggenbach (Fred) of Waterloo, IA and Randy Magee (Vera) of Waterloo, IA; his grandchildren, Madisen, Ethan, Mallory and Joseph McCormick; and his sister Peggy Stephens of Lake Mills, IA. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
