He was predeceased by: his parents, Merle E. Truax and Wilma A. Truax (Fox); and his brother Doug Truax. He is survived by: his former wife Marlene Rooney; his children, Rory Ratchford (Matt) of Independence, IA, Jeremy Truax (Bonnie Wolf) of New Hampton, IA and Jesse Truax (Andrea) of Des Moines, IA; his grandchildren, Madalynn, Alysha, Halle, Zoey, Collin, Andrew, Ryan, TeJay Ratchford, Hayley Isaacson (Derrick), Hunter Meek and Marlene Truax of Rowley, IA; his close friend Julie Nelson of Sheffield, IA; his sister Ruth Brandt (Ron) of Hazelton, IA; and his sister-in-law Nancy Truax of College Station, TX.
