She was predeceased by: her parents, Lavern VonLehmden and Olga VonLehmden; her husband Frank Tarpy; and her siblings, John VonLehmden, Tom VonLehmden and Agnes Thoma.

She is survived by: her sons, Lavern Tarpy (Renee) of Independence, IA and Mark Tarpy (Janet); her grandchildren, Serena Zwanziger (Mike), Carrie Tarpy, Melissa Trumbauer (Andy), Jason Tarpy, Taryn Tarpy and Troy Tarpy; her great grandchildren, Kaitlyn Zwanziger, Myah Zwanziger, Riley Trumbauer and Bentley Trumbauer; her sister Lois Doyle of Cedar Rapids, IA; and her siblings-in-law, Leroy Thoma, Jan Von Lehmden of Independence, IA and Betty VonLehmden.
