Marlene J. Steinbeck Obituary
We are sad to announce that on March 22, 2025, Marlene J. Steinbeck of Independence, Iowa passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid Marlene farewell, let us not mourn the absence of her physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of her spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Marlene is not truly gone, but merely transformed, her energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Howard Franklin Satterlee and June Clara Satterlee (Stevens); and her husband Ivan Steinbeck. She is survived by: her children, David Steinbeck (Terrace) of Eagle, ID, Beth Little (Mike) of Brandon, IA and Amy Steinbeck of Cedar Rapids, IA; and her brothers, Dr. James Satterlee (Gloria) of Edmond, OK and Alan Satterlee (Carol) of Omaha, NE. She is also survived by five grandchildren, five great grandchildren.
A funeral service was held on Friday, March 28th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the First United Methodist Church (313 2nd St SE, Independence, IA 50644).
Memorials may be directed to the family to be given to organizations important to Marlene.
