She was predeceased by: her parents, Emery Dewitt and Florence Mary Bennett, Jr. (Quario); her siblings, Emery Dewitt Bennett, III and Marlys Bennett; and her grandmother Marilyn.
She is survived by: her wife Carol Thein of Independence; her children, Jessie Thein (Krystle) of Marion and Josh Thein (Heather) of Tehachapi, California; her grandchildren, Michael and Elizabeth Thein; and her half-sister Annie Bennett of Tennessee. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A rosary will be held on Monday, April 7th 2025 at 2:30 PM at the Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home (221 N Frederick Ave, Oelwein, IA 50662). Visitation will be held on Monday, April 7th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM and on Tuesday, April 8th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, April 8th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church (626 S Frederick Ave, Oelwein, IA 50662).
