He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Megonigle and Golda Megonigle (Hamilton); his son Roger Megonigle; and his siblings, Iona Copenhaver, Mary Jo Schmitz and Jack Megonigle.

He is survived by: his daughter Karen Martin (Keith) of Denver, IA; and his siblings, Betty Lyons of Independence, IA and William Megonigle of Texas. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
