It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Karen A. Beatty (Independence, Iowa), who passed away on August 25, 2018, at the age of 75, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Ralph Henry and Lucille Virginia Williams (Scott); her children-in-law, David Shaw and Jean Beatty; and her brother-in-law Larry VanLaningham.
She is survived by: her daughters, Kodie Connolly (Tim) of Quasqueton, Angela James (Jeremy) of Quasqueton, Kimberly Kress (Bill) of Quasqueton, Denice Zieser (Dale) of Quasqueton and Devin Shaw (Jeff) of Cedar Falls; her stepchildren, Jim Beatty, Robert L. Beatty and Diane Beatty (John) of Independence; and her siblings, Sally Rasmussen (Darvin) of Harpers Ferry, Marsha Quass (Ron), Vicki VanLaningham, Deb Hogan (Mike) of Winthrop and Mike R. Williams (Diane) of Independence. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 8 step grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren (with one on the way), and 14 step great grandchildren.
