John A. Thimmesch Obituary

The passing of John A. Thimmesch of Independence, Iowa leaves a void in the hearts of many, as we bid farewell to a loving soul who departed on February 24, 2025. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Mathew Joseph Thimmesch and Berglet; his wife Georgina Marian Tschumper; and his sons, James Thimmesch and Gary Thimmesch.

He is survived by: his children, Kenneth Thimmesch (Karen) of Tiffin, IA, Michael Thimmesch (Maureen Horsfield) of Arlington, IA, Susan Hundley (Russ Reeder) of Elgin, IA, Jackie Oliver (Steve) of Aurora, IA and Karen Dillman (Jim) of Ft. Mohave, AZ; and his daughter-in-law Tammy Thimmesch. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 27th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the White Funeral Home (400 1st St W, Independence, IA 50644). A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 28th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the St. Patrick Catholic Church (555 1st St S, Winthrop, IA 50682).

Memorials may be directed to the American Legion Post 435 in Aurora and the Independence Senior Center.
