It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of James Kenneth McMillan of Independence, Iowa, born in Oelwein, Iowa, who passed away on July 13, 2024, at the age of 59, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

He was predeceased by: his sister Mary Ann McMillan. He is survived by: his parents, Robert W. McMillan and Elizabeth A. McMillan (Byrnes) of Stanley, IA; his wife Anne McMillan of Independence, IA; his children, Dr. Stephanie McMillan (Sam Callahan) of Bettendorf, IA and Dr. Matthew McMillan of Independence, IA; his siblings, Janet Smith (David) of Mount Pleasant, IA, Tom McMillan of Oelwein, IA and John McMillan (Nancy) of Aurora, IA; his parents-in-law, Jack and Marilyn Edgington; his brothers-in-law, Chris Edgington (Vanessa) and Tom Edgington (Melissa); and his nieces and nephews, Hannah, Jared, Cole, Grant, Travis, Natalie, Alex, Elizabeth, Larissa, Bridgette, Samantha and Abi.

In lieu of flowers, please plant two trees in honor of Jim. A Memorial Fund has been established at Northeast Security Bank in Independence.
