In loving memory of James Gilbert Brockling of Independence, Iowa, who departed this world on April 9, 2025 at the age of 79. James leaves behind a legacy remembered by family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Gilbert Brockling and Fern Brockling (Christensen); his son Kenny Brockling; and his sister Rita Marie Brockling. He is survived by: his wife Jean Brockling of Independence, IA; his children, Diana Christiansen (Dave) and Tim Brockling; his grandchildren, Tayten Freidhof, Dylan Brockling and Haileigh Brockling; and his siblings, Joyce Stickford of Independence, IA, Robert Brockling of Independence, IA and Rick Brockling of Kansas City, KS. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 15th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Reiff Family Center - Independence (216 3rd Ave SE, Independence, IA 50644). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 16th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the St. John's Catholic Church (209 5th Ave NE, Independence, IA 50644).
