He was predeceased by: his parents, Orin Harvey Short and Erma Dora Short (Foster); and his siblings, Robert "Bob" Edgar, Viola Crosby, Vesta Lowish, Leila Wemhoff, Shirley Wangler, Phyllis Richardson and Estle Short.
He is survived by: his sisters, Viola Fern, Vesta Maxine, Leila Katherine and Phyllis Arlene; his wife Harriet of Independence, IA; and his brother Bob Short (Sandy) of Laurel, MT. He is also survived by thirty-two nieces and nephews.
A memorial fund has been established.
