It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Fred Eugene Ehlers of Independence, Iowa, born in Waterloo, Iowa, who passed away on February 2, 2024, at the age of 74, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred A. Ehlers and Doris M. Ehlers; and his daughter Elizabeth Lynn Ellsworth. He is survived by: his wife Debra Ehlers of Independence, IA; his children, Kari Fredrich (Nick) of Downers Grove, IL and Kurt Ehlers of Independence, IA; and his sisters, Velma Crees (LeRoy) of Brownstown, IN and Twylla Ehlers of Franklin, IN. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
