She was predeceased by: her parents, George Steinmetz O'Brian and Ruth Esther O'Brian (Blad); her husband Gilbert Dean "Cricket" Hamilton; her siblings, Glen O'Brian (Vera), Richard O'Brian (Gertie), June Holstein (Dan) and Helen Bass (Duane); her daughter-in-law Katy McKean Hamilton; and her brother-in-law Carl VanTasell.
She is survived by: her children, Steven Hamilton of Sandy, Loren Hamilton of Independence, IA, Daniel Hamilton (Barbara) of Independence, IA, Julie Humes (Gary) of Independence, IA, Janine Lorenz (Steve) of Independence, IA and Susan Toale (Terry) of Independence, IA; and her sister Eleanor VanTasell of Cedar Rapids. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren.
A funeral service was held on Monday, February 10th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the First United Methodist Church (313 2nd St SE, Independence, IA 50644).
Memorials will be directed to the church and the Independence Public Library as well as other organizations that were important to Eunice.
