It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Donna Welter of Independence, Iowa, who passed away on February 17, 2025, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Donna Welter to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her husband Raymond Welter (Skip) of Mary's Catholic Church; her parents, Elmer Wells and Alice Wells; her sisters, Nelma (Lorraine Chase), Shirley (Bill Meisgeier) and Maxine (Roger Homewood); and her son-in-law James McConville (Lori).
She is survived by: her children, Lori McConville of Waterloo, Mike Welter (Andrea) of Lamont, Jerry Welter (June) of Parkersburg, Linda Welter of Tucson, AZ, Mark "Buzz" Welter (Kim) of Central City and Kathy Welter (Kelly Johnston) of Lamont. She is also survived by her ten grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.
A rosary was held on Thursday, February 20th 2025 at 3:45 PM at the Reiff Family Center—funeral Home (216 3rd Ave SE, Independence, IA 50644). Visitation was held on Thursday, February 20th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Reiff Family Center - Independence (216 3rd Ave SE, Independence, IA 50644). A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 21st 2025 at 10:30 AM at the St. John's Catholic Church (209 5th Ave NE, Independence, IA 50644).
