He was predeceased by: his parents, Gilbert Laningham and Gladys Rose Van Laningham (Miller); his sons, Harold Van Laningham and Robert Van Laningham; his grandsons, Joshua Van Laningham and Dustin Van Laningham; his siblings, Wilbert Van Laningham, Richard Van Laningham, Goldie Parcell and Betty Bergeson; and his close friend Bertha Mumford.
He is survived by: his children, Terry Van Laningham (Diane) of Hazleton, IA and Eva Lorenz (Steve) of Ankeny, IA. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; 7 great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, February 19th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the White Funeral Home (400 1st St W, Independence, IA 50644). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, February 19th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
Memorials may be directed to Fontana Park in Hazleton, IA or to the family to be given to organizations important to David.
