With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Curtis R. Shurtz of Independence, Iowa, born in Cheyenne Wells, Colorado, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on August 27, 2024. He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Keith Shurtz and Mary Ellen Shurtz (Thomas); and his parents-in-law, Donald and LaVonne Tegen. He is survived by: his wife Pam Shurtz of Independence, IA; his daughters, Julie Beck (Eli) of Center Point, IA and Laurie Wieseler (Mike) of Ankeny, IA; his grandchildren, Brayden Beck, Kaitlyn Beck, Ashlan Wieseler and Kyle Wieseler; his siblings, Jay Dee Shurtz of Independence, IA and Kelly Baer (Chuck) of Marion, IA; and his brothers-in-law, Terry Tegen (Angie) of Phoenix, AZ and Scot Tegen (Minda) of Salem, OR. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
