He is survived by: his wife Carol J. Leonard; his children, Kirk Schmidt of Ida Grove, IA, Kyle Schmidt (Monica) of Danbury, IA, Kelly Harris of Battle Creek, IA and Kory Schmidt (Christi Mallow) of Battle Creek, IA; and his brother Don Schmidt (Darlene) of Holstein, IA. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
