He was predeceased by: his parents, Archie L. Samson and Kathryn Samson (McLaughlin); his wife Margaret "Peg" Samson; his daughter Elizabeth Hilker; his sons-in-law, Allen Hilker and Stanley Junod; and his brothers, John (Florence), William (Joan) and Paul Samson.
He is survived by: his children, Russell Samson (Jean) of Ankeny, IA, Mary Samson of Johnston, Pat Junod of Ankeny and Paul Samson (Pat) of Medicine Lake, Minnesota. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, extended family.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 28th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church (800 N Main St, Ida Grove, IA 51445). A rosary was held on Tuesday, January 28th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Ida Grove, Iowa (800 N Main St, Ida Grove, IA 51445). A funeral Mass was held on Tuesday, January 28th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
