He was predeceased by: his parents, Vernon "Pete" Thornhill and Esther Thornhill (Stamp); his sisters, Marlene, Debora and Dorothy; and his siblings-in-law, Henry Small, Vern Olberding, Steve Brown, Dominick and Annie Small.
He is survived by: his wife Ann Thornhill of Ida Grove, IA; his son Ian Thornhill (Paula) of Cedar Rapids, IA; his grandsons, Bennett of Cedar Rapids, IA, Camden of Iowa City, IA and Donovan of Kings Point, NY; his sister Sandra Olberding of Spencer, IA; and his brothers-in-law, Darrell Bennigsdorf of Ida Grove, IA and Jeff Cranston of Odebolt, IA. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and their extended families.
