He was predeceased by: his parents, Agnes Mary Toben (Welch) and Carl H. Toben; and his siblings, Mary Wegner (Lyle), John and Marvin Toben.
He is survived by: his wife Janet Toben of Ida Grove, IA; his children, Denise Toben of Ida Grove, IA, Scott Toben (Lisa Volden-Toben) of Des Moines, IA and Brad Toben (Patty) of Sioux City, IA; his grandchildren, Ben Toben, Daphne Cogdill (Eric), Nicolas Toben, Jacob Toben (Desi), Kristina Toben, Jackie Toben, Anastasia Russell (Mark) and Michael Toben; his great grandchildren, Lincoln Cogdill, Natalie Cogdill, Miles Cogdill, Huxton Toben, Liam Toben and Joshua Russell; his siblings, Gene Toben (Connie) and Joan Hansen (Loren); and his sister-in-law Alyce Toben.
Visitation was held on Thursday, March 6th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the St. Paul Lutheran Church (100 7th St, Ida Grove, IA 51445). A funeral service was held on Thursday, March 6th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
