He is survived by: his wife Judy Smith of Ida Grove, IA; his children, Nikki Dausel of Ida Grove, IA, Ballard Smith, III (Sharon) of Ida Grove, IA and Cody Smith (Melissa) of Garrison, IA; his stepson Jason Johnson (Michelle) of Lafayette, LA; his children, Tina Smothers of Waukee, IA, Lisa Ackerman of Spirit Lake, IA and Jared "Boo" Petersen of Holstein, IA; his grandchildren, Cooper, Bodi, Kale, Kasia, Jasmine, Zariah, Quincy, Ballard IV, Donovin, Brian, Carter, Brady, Emily, Alec and Phineas Robinson; his stepmother Paula Smith of Arthur, IA; his siblings, Brandon Smith of Arthur, IA, Susan Page (Monroe) of Big Rock, TN and Kim Menke (Joe) of Battle Creek, IA; his brother-in-law Ken Simpson of Sac City, IA; and his close friend Calvin Watson of North Judson, IN. He is also survived by extended family and friends.
