He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Edward and Myrtle Nyhus (Clark); his sister Patricia Nyhus; his stepmother Viola Nyhus; his brother Loren Nyhus; his uncle Kenneth Clark; and his father-in-law Marion McCoy.
He is survived by: his wife Janice Y. McCoy; his children, Sheila Heinen (Thomas) of Huxley, Jared Nyhus (Vanessa) of Prairie Village, KS and Angela Spaid (Rodney) of Huxley; his grandchildren, Tyler Nyhus-Nelson, Brant Spaid, Garret Heinen, Alexis Nyhus, Abigail Nyhus and Cole Heinen; his brothers, Alan of Sioux Falls, SD, Kevin of Sioux Falls, SD and Todd Nyhus of Sioux Falls, SD; his aunt Barb Clark of Lakeland, MN; his mother-in-law Delphia McCoy of Huxley; and his pet Crickett.
