She was predeceased by: her parents, Harry Slining and Eunice Reed Slining (Reed); and her siblings, Glenn Slining, Robert Slining, Duane Slining, Harry Jr. Slining, Mildred Macri and Arlene Davis.
She is survived by: her husband Roger Dean Shahan; her children, Diane Spear, Jane Wilder, Timothy Shahan, Bruce Shahan and Dale Shahan; and her sister JoAnn B. Koester of Belmond, Iowa.. She is also survived by nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
Due to the current national COVID19 pandemic a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Story City park bench fund in Janet's memory.
