She was predeceased by: her parents, Phillip Nelson and Florence Nelson (Swanson); her former husband William Robert Smith; and her siblings, Dorothy Nelson, Selma Ehrhardt (Nelson), Clifford Nelson, Frank Nelson and Virgil Nelson.
She is survived by: her husband Carroll Vik of Humboldt; her children, David Smith (Glenda) of Custer, Gary Smith of Truth, Kristen Smith Peltz of Barnard and Greg Vik (Cindy) of Humboldt, Iowa; her brother Erland Nelson (Phyllis) of Humboldt; and her sister-in-law Barbara Nelson of Dakota City. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren.
